Our company has been establishing a hybrid corn breeding program since 2009, of-fering a variety of silage and grain varieties in different maturity groups at the Balıkesir - Altınova Research Station, and exporting to 5-6 countries.
In recent years, our company has made significant progress in cereal breeding ef-forts. Genetic materials collected from domestic and international sources have been evaluated, leading to the development of numerous candidate varieties through hy-bridization and selection studies.
As part of the 2020-2021 planting season, our company conducted hybridization and selection studies for cereals (bread wheat, durum wheat, barley) in Ankara - Akyurt, and preliminary yield and regional yield trials for candidate varieties were established in locations such as Çorum, Konya - Sarayönü, Tekirdağ, and Balıkesir - Altınova.
In the Ankara - Akyurt location, hybridizations were carried out in a hybrid garden with a wide variation range in winter-facultative development nature, focusing on yield, quality, and disease resistance, especially using ancestral wheat varieties as parents.
Furthermore, in all our locations, we have candidate lines with a wide range of varia-tions, including winter-alternative, awned-awnless, early-late maturity, different plant heights, and spike colors, as well as white and red grains, which stand out in terms of plant appearance, disease resistance, and tolerance to lodging, even under dry conditions.
The observation garden and trials in Balıkesir - Altınova have been harvested, and barley varieties have also been harvested in Çorum."
