Our R&D Studies
Our company is concerned with R&D and seed quality in field crops (wheat, barley, triticale, etc.), hybrid corn (gin corn, sweet corn, silage and grain), potatoes, paddy, chickpeas and some forage crops (alfalfa, forage peas). test is done. It was estab-lished in 1981 and started its research and development activities in 1987 by obtain-ing the authority of "Private Sector Agricultural Research Organization" in field crops and vegetable species. In its own plant breeding program for some species, our com-pany has registered a total of 68 varieties and lines in its name in wheat, barley, corn, alfalfa, potato and berry species between 1987-2020.
In 2009, Balıkesir/Altınova "Seed Research Station" was established and hybrid corn breeding studies were initiated. Here, within the scope of breeding studies, inbreed-ing, hybridization, pure line development studies, determination of heterotic groups, observation gardens and trial activities are carried out. At the Altınova Breeding Sta-tion, 9 hybrid corn and their parent lines have been bred, their registration proce-dures have been completed and their production has been carried out so far.
Wheat, Barley and Chickpea Breeding studies in Ankara/Akyurt started in the 2018 growing season using selection, hybridization and introduction breeding methods. A breeding program was created by planting the genetic resource consisting of a total of 660 wheat, barley and chickpea genotypes. In addition, observation, selection and trial studies are carried out in Balıkesir, Konya, Çorum and Tekirdağ regions with va-riety candidates/lines in summer, winter and alternative development nature.
It established the "Seed Quality Laboratory" in 2016 and received the authority to analyze and certify the grain and corn seeds it pro-duced from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry on 18.6.2016. In this context, it can carry out seed quality tests and certification of the seeds it produces in grains. In addition, R&D studies regarding seed quality tests (seed viability, germination, viability tests, tetro-zolium tests, etc.) are carried out at the research station under la-boratory and field conditions.
