Our Company, which was established in 1981 as a subsidiary of Agricultural Credit Cooperatives and received the authorization of the Private Sector Agricultural Research Organization in 1987, established the Research Station in Balıkesir / Altınova in 2009. With the breeding program of local corn varieties that started in 2009, varieties in different maturity groups that are suitable for our country's conditions, have wide adaptability, are resistant to diseases and pests, are highly productive and of high quality, have begun to be bred. As a result of corn breeding studies, the registration of our newly developed TK 1821 silage corn variety was approved as a silage corn variety by the Warm Climate Cereals Committee, which met on 03.04.2024.
As a result of breeding studies by TK Tohumculuk, our TK 1821 variety, which is in the FAO 650 mortality group, stood out in registration trials with its dry matter yield, nutrition and earliness (up to 3,599 kg dry matter yield per decare can be obtained under farmer conditions). Our variety, which has upright leaves and is suitable for frequent planting, has the feature of remaining green until harvest. Our company, which operates with the mission of contributing to our country's agriculture and food security by meeting the quality seed needs of Turkish Agricultural Credit Cooperatives partners and all farmers, continues to take steps to leave a sustainable agricultural legacy to future generations by further increasing Turkey's agricultural potential with the domestic seed varieties it develops.
